Instructions for taking examinations differ depending on the Offering College or program of the course. Students must check the instructions for the relevant Offering College or program carefully.

When taking a Written Examination, students must review 2. Written Examination.

University-wide Liberal Arts Subjects / University-wide Curriculum, College of Arts / Graduate School of Arts, College of Sociology / Graduate School of Sociology, College of Environmental Studies, College of Tourism / Graduate School of Tourism, College of Community and Human Services / Graduate School of Community and Human Services, College of Contemporary Psychology / Graduate School of Contemporary Psychology, College of Sport and Wellness / Graduate School of Sport and Wellness

  •     When taking a Written Examination, students must review 2. Written Examination.
  • Students taking a Written Examination must gather in the hallway in front of the Examination Room at least 15 minutes before the start of the examination. Students may not enter the Examination Room until instructed to do so by the examination proctor.
  • Entry to the Examination Room is prohibited from 20 minutes before the start of the examination.

<Written Examinations During the Regular Examination Period>

  • Written Examinations held during the Regular Examination Period use assigned seating.
    When entering the Examination Room, students will receive a Seat Assignment Slip showing their seat number. Students must check the seat number and take the assigned seat.
  • Students must also check the Seating Chart for Written Examinations posted at the Examination Room.

College of Economics / Graduate School of Economics

Materials Permitted

As a general rule, materials may not be brought into Written Examinations for courses offered by the College of Economics or Graduate School of Economics.
For some courses, however, specified materials may be permitted. Permitted materials will be listed in the List of Examination Formats for the relevant courses. Students must check the list carefully.

College of Law and Politics / Graduate School of Law and Politics

  • When taking a Written Examination, students must review 2. Written Examination.
  • Examination Rooms may be divided by class. Students must check their class in advance.
  • As a general rule, answers must be written in Japanese. The use of another language is permitted only when the instructor has approved that language in advance for the course.

<Written Examinations During the Regular Examination Period>

  • Written Examinations held during the Regular Examination Period use assigned seating.
    When entering the Examination Room, students will receive a Seat Assignment Slip showing their seat number. Students must check the seat number and the seating chart posted in the Examination Room, and sit in the assigned seat.
     
  • Instructions for Entering the Examination Room
    1. 1
      Students must gather in the hallway in front of the Examination Room at least 15 minutes before the start of the examination. Strict punctuality is required.
    2. 2
      Students may not wait inside the Examination Room. Students who are already in the room will be instructed to leave 20 minutes before the examination starts.
    3. 3
      When instructed to enter, students must receive their Seat Assignment Slip in order and enter the Examination Room. Entry procedures may be adjusted for large classrooms or for Examination Rooms where legal reference materials are lent during the examination.

      After entering, students must promptly sit in their assigned seat. Students must be seated at least 10 minutes before the examination starts.
    5. 5
      Once the proctor begins the announcements, the doors to the Examination Room may be temporarily closed and entry may be prohibited so that all students can hear the announcements and the examination can begin on time. No individual arrangements will be made for students who did not enter before the announcements began, even if this results in reduced answering time or other disadvantages.

      Students who were unable to enter before the announcements began may enter only at the time instructed by the proctor and with the proctor's permission.
