- 3Report Examinations are conducted under university-wide rules. Students must review the Course Guidebook and this announcement carefully and submit their reports during the designated period.
- 4Students must follow the submission method and submission period specified in this announcement. Reports submitted by any method or at any time other than those specified will not be accepted under any circumstances. Students must read the instructions below carefully, especially “3-6. 3-3. Checking Report Examination Topic and Submission Methods
Report Examination topics will be announced on Canvas LMS in the course site designated for Report Examinations. Reports must also be submitted through that site.
- Canvas LMS(Web)
- *Students must log in to Canvas LMS and check the Report Examination topic for each applicable course. Students must also complete the submission process on Canvas LMS.
- *Report Examination topics will not be posted in the List of Examination Formats.
3-4. Canvas LMS Manual
Students must review the Canvas LMS Manual before accessing, completing, or submitting a Report Examination through Canvas LMS.
- Canvas LMS Guide for Students (General Manual for Canvas LMS)
- Submission Procedures for Report Examinations in Canvas LMS (Simple Version)
[Canvas LMS Support] For assistance with Canvas LMS operation, contact the Media Center Help Desk. For inquiries, refer to the Media Center page on RIKKYO PORTAL.
* Please allow sufficient time when making inquiries, particularly during the Report Examination submission period.
3-5. Cover Sheet and Submission Receipt for Submitted Files
The University does not designate a required cover sheet or submission receipt for Report Examination files. Students are encouraged to include identifying information, such as Student ID Number and name, on the first page of the report at their own discretion.
- *A report will not be rejected solely because this information is not included.
- *If the instructor provides separate instructions regarding identifying information or file preparation, students must follow those instructions.
- *Students must also review the Report Examination Topic carefully for any additional instructions, including the required file format.
3-6. Submission Methods and Directions for Report Examinations
Report Examinations will not be accepted after the designated submission period under any circumstances. Students must submit their reports well before the deadline.
- 1Submission status on Canvas LMS is determined by the account used to submit the report. Students must submit reports while logged in with their own V-Campus ID.
- 2Students who have not completed course registration for a course are not eligible to submit a Report Examination for that course.
- *The Report Examination course for the relevant course will appear on Canvas LMS only after course registration has been completed.
(see 3 below).
- 3To submit a Report Examination, students must log in to Canvas LMS, open the Report Examination course displayed for the relevant course, and upload the report there. No other submission method, including submission by email to the instructor, will be accepted.
- *Students must review the Canvas LMS Manual before the submission period and confirm the submission procedure in advance.
- 4When the Canvas LMS assignment function is used, students must give prior consent to the University's use of the Similarity-Checking Tool. Students must review the relevant page before submitting the report. Time required to complete the consent procedure will not constitute grounds for accepting a report after the submission period. Students must complete all required steps well before the deadline.
- 5Students must carefully review the Report Examination Topic announced on Canvas LMS before submitting. If a file format or extension is specified, the system will not accept files in any format other than the one specified.
- 6Students may choose the file name for the report at their discretion. If the instructor provides specific instructions in class or in the Report Examination Topic, students must follow those instructions.
- 7Reports will be graded based on the file submitted through the Report Examination course for each course on Canvas LMS. Students must take care not to submit a report to the wrong course.
- *The Report Examination course is different from the “regular class course.”
- 8After clicking Submit Assignment in the Report Examination course, the submission process may take time depending on the student's network environment. Clicking Submit Assignment does not by itself complete submission. A report will not be accepted unless the submission process is completed by the deadline. Students must submit well before the deadline and confirm their submission status as described in item 9.
- 9A report is considered submitted only when Submitted! appears in the Report Examination course on Canvas LMS. If Submitted! does not appear during the submission period, the report has not been submitted, regardless of the reason. Students must confirm after submission that Submitted! appears on the screen.
- 10Students can check both their submission status and the submitted file in the Report Examination course. Students must submit well before the deadline and verify the submitted file. Resubmission after the submission period will not be accepted for any reason, including garbled text, file corruption, or upload errors.
- 11During the submission period, students may submit a report more than once for the same course. The final submission will be the version graded.
- *Students are fully responsible for confirming the content of the final submitted file.
- 12Reports submitted after the submission period due to network connectivity issues or electronic device issues will not be accepted under any circumstances. Examples include inability to connect to the internet, time required for multi-factor authentication, slow device processing, or other device-related problems. Students must submit well in advance.
- 13Students are responsible for securing a stable network environment before the submission deadline.
- *A wired connection is recommended. If a student cannot submit successfully, the student must secure another network environment with sufficient time remaining, such as by using a computer in a campus computer room.
- 14Students must distinguish between network connectivity or electronic device issues in their own environment, including university computer rooms, and system-related issues affecting Canvas LMS. Only when Canvas LMS is affected by a system-related issue caused by the University's environment, including system delays or service disruptions, will the University announce the issue and any measures, such as an extension of the submission deadline.
- ◆If an Incident or Accident Occurs on the Submission Deadline
If a student is unable to submit a report by the deadline due to unforeseen circumstances, such as an incident or accident, the student must contact the office listed in the Inquiry section before the deadline and follow its instructions.
- *"Unforeseen circumstances" refers to incidents, accidents, and similar events. It does not include electronic device issues, network connectivity issues, or loss of data.
3-7. Handling of Web System (Canvas LMS) Issues Such as System-Related Issues (Including System Delays and Service Disruptions) Caused by the University Environment
- Report Examinations are designed to provide sufficient time for submission. Report Examination topics are announced at least two weeks before the deadline, and the submission period is at least four days. Students must submit their reports well before the deadline.
- Submission Date and Time
All Report Examinations must be submitted online. Because many students may submit reports through Canvas LMS, heavy system traffic is expected on the final day of the submission period, especially immediately before the deadline. Students are responsible for avoiding submission problems by submitting well in advance. - University-Related Canvas LMS System Issues
The following rules apply when a Canvas LMS system issue caused by the University's environment occurs, including system delays or service disruptions.
- 1If the deadline is 17:00 on a weekday, no extension or other measure will, as a general rule, be provided when the system issue occurs between the start of the submission period and 12:00 on the deadline date.
- 2If the deadline is 12:30 on a Saturday, no extension or other measure will, as a general rule, be provided when the system issue occurs between the start of the submission period and 10:00 on the deadline date.
- 3If a University-related Canvas LMS system issue occurs after the times specified in items 1 or 2 on the deadline date, the University will announce whether an extension or other measure will be provided and, if so, the details of that measure.
3-8. Submission of Report Examinations by Students Restricted from Campus Attendance Due to School Infectious Diseases
Students who are restricted from campus attendance due to a school infectious disease must still submit Report Examinations during the designated submission period. Because Report Examinations can be submitted online from home or another location, no alternative arrangements will be provided on the basis of restriction from campus attendance.
